Your guests spent a ton of energy getting ready for your special day, why not capture that in an illustration? At your wedding a station will be set up with my art supplies shortly before cocktail hour. Your guests will quickly pose for a photo, then are free to party or watch the process. They return later on to retrieve their custom illustration. This service doubles as entertainment & can be used on a first come first served basis at your wedding or your can specify guest count. Live wedding guest portrait illustration
These quick illustrations are gorgeous and only take a short time to do at your cocktail hour and Wedding reception. I offer 2 styles for weddings. A standard service and a speedy service. A standard service includes your guests gestures and poses sketched near identical in an illustrative way with watercolor and inks added to the attire. A speedy service uses pre-planned poses to speed up the process. We personalize this by adding the guests attire color and hairstyle.

How it works
Upon arrival my assistant will take their photo as reference to illustrate from, so they may continue to mingle and enjoy the event. They are more than welcome to watch as I create their illustration or go party on and retrieve later! {I do not have my guests sit and pose}
Illustrations are typically done with quick drying materials so guests may usually take their portrait as soon as it is created. All artwork is placed in a protected sleeve with cardboard backing.
I am currently only working in South EAST Florida. Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Stuart, Port Saint Lucie and anywhere in between. Travel fees are .55 cent a mile for anything further than 75 mi from my home base in Coconut Creek, FL.
Prices begin at $500 for 2.5 hours of service on location.
How many illustrations can you complete during an event?
It depends on the event & what your art expectations are. It normally takes about 7 minutes to illustrate one person with my basic style and 10 mins per couple. I try to find a balance between quantity and quality during live events. Generally, about 10 singles or 5 couples can be sketched per hour with the common wedding style. The speedy style averages about 7 couples of 14 guests per hour, which is based off of a template pose. The final number of illustrations completed during an event depends on the flow of the event and the style of art you are looking for.
Speedy: Template pose. We can skip the details in the illustrations in order to increase the # of guests done, and pre-plan the 2 basic poses if you desire.
Depending on your guest list size, not all guests may get drawn. Not everyone will want an illustration at your event therefore, this is a great first come first serve opportunity. We can also have additional guests drawn post-event via photos to send with your Thank You cards.

FAQs
How long does it take?
It really depends on each event and unique situation, but my standard style is 10 guests per hour or 5 couples. My Speedy style is about 14 guests per hour or 7 couples.
What if I want ALL of my guests illustrated?
You have options! Remember live guest portraits happens in real time therefore here are your options:
A) We can hire an additional illustrator to come to the event based on their hourly rate.
B) I can complete the remaining guests at home for $5 per person. They will be mailed to the bride & groom to distribute post event. (most common)
C) We can provide stock illustrated wedding favors for the guests that did not receive an illustration, The fee for that is $1 per stock illustration. Inquire with me for what these can look like.
Remember, not ALL guests want a live illustration & it is an experience regardless how many people receive one.
How will my guests know how to pose?
My assistant will do their best to help guests pose properly for the experience. We will show them a few poses to assist with the desired aesthetic.
Is this only for the guests or does the couple get one too?
The bride & groom will also receive one!
is this only for weddings?
NO! In fact, I have done several events such as brand awareness events, trunk shows, galas, fundraisers, and corporate events.
can i get both wedding painting & live guest portraits?
Yes! I can combine services of live wedding painting of bride & groom and switch to guest portraits at cocktail hour or reception. Please contact me to discuss options & timing.
can you add backgrounds?
Yes! I pre-stamp a watercolor palm tree. We can also PRE-PLAN a small nature background to print.
What is a live guest portrait?
A live guest portrait is a quick illustration that capture the likeness and features of your guests in real time! It is a wonderful keepsake and the perfect way to interact with them and make your event memorable!
What mediums do you use?
Typically Watercolor. Medium choice depends on the event location. Weather I am indoors or outdoors, if it is Summer or Winter, and the # of guests you want done. With less guest expectations or VIP guests I can use a bit of gouache, a thicker paint that has opacity. Typically I use Watercolor and copic markers due to the # of guests brides request to be completed. I also use an Artist’s lightbox & other devices to more quickly & accurately render the guest figures.
